This is circulating, and I thought I would share it, though I don't know the author, but I have fact-checked the whole thing.
"What did Liberals do that is so offensive to Conservatives? I will tell you what they did.
Liberals kept us out of Iraq. They said we weren't going to Vietnam. They signed the Kyoto Accord, and created our Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and the Clarity Act, ensuring our rights as people are protected, that we are free, and have a nation. They told us the state has no business in the bedrooms of the nation. Your bedroom. They invented peacekeeping, gave us the Canadian flag you wave, and chose the national anthem you sing. They gave us the freedom of same-sex marriage, balanced budgets, and the Kelowna accord, the Canadian Student Loans Program, the Canada Pension Plan, and Old Age Security. They brought us Universal Health care. They fought for a strong, regulated banking system that has saved our economy, even as our present Prime Minister tries to take credit for it.
What did Conservatives do? They opposed Liberals on every single one of those issues mentioned above. Every one.
So when you hurl the word Liberal as an insult at my feet, saying it as if it were something to be ashamed of, something dirty, something to run away from, it won't work.
Because I will pick that label up, and wear it as a badge of honour."
